On this, the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy, it’s important to discuss the secret Camp David meeting Donald Trump planned (then scrapped at the 11th hour) involving the US and the Taliban terrorist organization.

As the world knows, when Donald Trump sets his mind to something — no matter how bad or potentially disastrous it may be — he’s as stubborn as a mule to listen to any suggestion of logic or common sense. This was the case when ‘The Donald’ woke up one morning and single-handedly decided that he should invite the Taliban terrorist organization to the United States so that he could sit in a room with them and miraculously do what no other living human has ever been able to do: talk them into ending their decade-long acts of terrorism.
Yes, Trump actually believes he is a master strategist and a veritable svengali among men. However, despite their usual “yes-man” tendencies, even his own national security team — including National Security Adviser John Bolton and VP Mike Pence — could not convince Trump that welcoming a world terrorist organization into the US was the equivalent of stepping on a landmine. Too bad for Bolton, his refusal to go along with Trump led to a heated argument on Monday that got him fired on Tuesday.
Imagine, if you will, Trump placing both fingers in his ears while yelling “Blah, blah, blah” to himself as career foreign policy strategists attempted (but failed) to talk him out of a Taliban champagne toast at Camp David. Well, that’s just about what happened.
And then, fate stepped in.
Last week, a car bomb planted by the Taliban killed 11 people, including a US soldier. That event was followed by a heated debate within the administration over the wisdom of negotiating with the Taliban at all. It was then and only then that the “I Can Never Admit I Was Wrong” Trump was forced to cancel his ill-conceived Taliban treaty.
“Discussions with the Taliban are dead, as far as I’m concerned,” the foreign policy novice and strategy-simpleton Trump begrudgingly admitted to reporters on Monday.
“I always think it is good to meet and talk, but in this case, I decided not to,” he later tweeted.
Once again, the amateur in the Oval Office convinced himself that his mere presence is so magical, he could buck decades of foreign policy decorum and expertise and sit down with a known enemy without any preconditions or list of achievable goals. No! Donald Trump is all-knowing and omnipotent. At least that’s what his cult-like followers have been telling him. At least that’s what he really believes.

The office of the U.S. president is become a veritable clown-show for ALL the world to see (a combination sh*tshow and hot mess). And it never stops….not even for a minute…smh!
